this is my dear friend lauren:
she just went travelling with her boyfriend. last year we went travelling together for a couple of months around croatia, greece, italy and turkey. it was wierd, wonderful and crazy. first of all, you probably shouldn't travel with her because you never know what will happen...
noooo. you should, she was so much fun and the best travel companion anyone could ask for. i recently got this film developed and it reminded me of our little adventure and the crazy fun times we had together, so i thought i would share a taster of that with you.

so first of all i may point out that lauren is blonde, as am i. and, well, when you are in a country such as turkey which is predominantly a dark haired country AND also predominantly male; you are sure to get A LOT of attention. and us being the naive young ladies that we are were very unsuspecting about this attention. basically we almost got into a lot of sticky situations...
BUT WE DIDNT. almost. almost.
so welcome to beautiful venice, italy. land of beauty and fine food. lauren and i spent our time wandering and eating. we didnt do much else just wandered around the streets all day for 2 days, just looking in shop windows, staring at beautiful things, sipping on fine caffeine and eating divine cuisine. oh it was a wonderful life.

one evening we were wandering as per usual and we noticed an attractive interesting young fellow carrying around some large paintings. he was grinning at us and we began to giggle quite spastically. basically i will cut a long story short, he managed to ask us to his apartment for dinner (we said NO) so he simply asked us to dinner and we said yes (i know - so stupid) but first we said we had to get ready, well we never turned up - poor man.

then we went to majestic milan were we continued to wander. i went into this cathedral, the duomo and spent 20 minutes in absolute awe of its beauty.
when i returned miss sproule was sitting eating an icecream talking to this man. turns out he is a photographer for amarni (whateverrrr) but we kind of believed it at the time - his stories seemed pretty legit. so we went and drank cocktails with him (silly, silly girls) but i dragged us away once he started to try and kiss lauren... (your probably all thinking that was what we should have expected - and we should have but as i said, we were naive and silly and we didnt)

so our trip takes a turn to tumultuous turkey (not too sure what that means but it sounds good)
we managed to make friends with this american dude who liked to talk a lot and drink a shite load of water - i know that may seem irrelevant but honestly, that boy could drink - i reckon he downed about 5 litres of water in about 3 hours on this safari we went on. we went to some mud baths, swam in a sunken city, body surfed down a terrifying and faaawweeeezing river and slept in tree houses. oh take me back! (i do have some images but they werent taken on this camera and dont look nearly as cool)
so now back in aus drinking coffee with this girl.
awww catherine....

eating dinner at this place.
this is the view you look up to... nice hobart architecture

and getting a grip that my holidays are over and i must knuckle down and study at uni.
but its not all so bad, at least i have these memories and these ridiculous stories to share with you.
i do have lots more. do ask if you want more.
